PRESENT: ABSENT: Jeffery Lewis, Councilman GUESTS: Scott Quesnel, Ed Pebler At 7:10 pm Supervisor Betke opened the special meeting of the Town Board. Supervisor Betke stated that we received the resignation of Gordon Pebler as the building inspector/code enforcement officer. Said resignation was accepted on motion of Donald Daoust, seconded by Patrick Kennedy and duly carried. Supervisor Betke noted that Ed Pebler received approval of his request from the Department of Corrections for outside employment. On motion of Patrick Kennedy, seconded by Thomas Hobart and duly carried, Ed Pebler was appointed to serve as building inspector/code enforcement officer for the Town of Coxsackie at the current salary. Donald Daoust made a motion to appoint Gordon Pebler as the deputy building inspector. The motion was seconded by Thomas Hobart and duly carried. The deputy inspector position will be without compensation for the remainder of the year. Donald Daoust made a motion to appoint Gordon Pebler to the Town of Coxsackie Planning Board. Thomas Hobart seconded the motion which was duly carried. The aforementioned appointments are effective immediately. At 7:14 pm Thomas Hobart made a motion which was seconded by Donald Daoust and duly carried to enter into executive session for the purposes of discussing EMS personnel. At 7:40 pm Thomas Hobart made a motion to end executive session and open the budget workshop meeting. Patrick Kennedy seconded the motion which was duly carried. The tentative budget was reviewed and various funds were discussed. NYS pensions, workers compensation and unemployment insurance are all up. The no travel policy will remain in effect and no raises will be given. Rent for the apartment will be increased to $500 per month. The deputy building inspector will be a salaried position in the amount of $2,000. This amount will be taken out of the building inspector's salary. Discussion regarding DA Fund and surplus money. Budget workshop meetings were scheduled for October 17, October 24, and October 26. Meetings will be held at 7:00 pm. The public hearing on the preliminary budget was scheduled for November 1, 2011 at 7:00 pm on motion of Alex Betke, seconded by Patrick Kennedy and duly carried. Patrick Kennedy made a motion to adjourn at 8:55 pm. Donald Daoust seconded the motion which was duly carried.
