Mar 22 (Mon) from 7 to 8:30 pm Greene County Red Cross is holding an event at the Greene County Emergency Services Building in Cairo to inform residents about the many ways they can become involved with the Red Cross. After the ice storms of last year, a number of residents and organizations in the county have contacted the Red Cross to find out how they can help us prepare for, prevent and respond to local disasters. This event is being held in response to these calls.
Over 90 percent of our programs and services, including CPR classes and emergency shelter operations, in Greene County are delivered by Red Cross volunteers. Without the time and energy of volunteers, we wouldn't be able to fulfill our life-saving mission. So we’d like to invite you, your members and their friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to join us on March 22nd to learn more about the many rewarding American Red Cross volunteer opportunities. A flyer about the event and the Times Union insert about Red Cross programs are attached. In this economy, many businesses are finding that volunteering is a great way to promote community!
