  Code Compliance Guidelines

A. Concrete

1. Minimum Depth of footings.
2. Re-Bar installation.
3. Footing drainage.
B. Electrical
1. All electrical work must be performed by a Greene County Licensed Electrician.
2. All electrical work must be inspected by the N.Y. Board of Fire Underwriters.

C. Plumbing

1. K-Copper required for incoming water lines.
2. L-Copper required throughout inner structure for water lines.
3. L-Copper/cast iron required under any slab/basement floor for water discharge.
a. No Hub cast permitted under slab/basement floor.
b. Plastic not permitted under slab/basement floor.

D. Insulation

1. As of April 1, 1987, all perimeter walls require a total "R" factor of 25 from footing line
to roof line.

E. Fire Protection

1. Smoke detectors.
2. Fireplace inspection prior to enclosure.
3. Attached garage must be enclosed with fire retardant materials (Type X Wallboard).

F. Inspection Schedule

The Code Enforcement Officer must be contacted for inspection at the following intervals:
1. Prior to pouring of footings, footing forms must be inspected.
2. Prior to pouring of foundation walls, footings and wall forms must be inspected.
3. Prior to erection of block foundation walls, footings must be inspected.
4. Prior to backfilling footings, the drainage system must be inspected.
5. Prior to pouring slab/basement floor, all under slab plumbing and/or concrete reinforcement must be inspected.
6. Prior to closing up walls, all rough-in plumbing, wiring and insulation
must be inspected.
7. Any fireplace unit-wood stove and flue/chimney must be inspected prior to enclosure.

 


  • NYS mandated amendments to the Septic Code

    NYS mandated Percolation test; 2 holes to re 12 in. circomference,
    20 in. deep.1 test hole 6 feet deep. All holes to be in area of planned leach field location.

    Tanks must be 1000 gal. min. concrete, and must be set on 3 in. sand or pea gravel.

    * All rain gutters and down gutters and down spouts are to be diverted from leach field area. Fiberglass and Polyethylene tanks may be used only if they meet NYS regulations.

  • SUBDIVISION APPLICATION ........50.00 + $50. For each lot created
    (3 lots = $150 + $50)

  • CO SEARCH ........15.00 (submit letter
